High School Class of 1969

1969 was a year of the peace movement and flower power. It was also a year of firsts with the first lunar landing, Woodstock music festival, and Abbey Road (the Beatles).

Life within a small, private, Christian boarding academy in central Alberta was simpler, sheltered, and bound by history, tradition, religion, and a valuing of service. There’s something about the rituals and structure of a boarding academy, where most students lived on campus in dormitories and food was served only three times a day in a cafeteria, that created indelible memories and friendships.

Our 50th class reunion was held on June 8, 2019 at Burman University (formerly CUC) — a special gathering of 28 classmates plus spouses who joined us from across the east and west coasts of Canada, USA, and England to remember, honor, and be grateful for our shared experiences as the Class of 69.
