Elvira Polishuk Gascoyne
It’s hard to believe that 50 years have passed since our High School graduation!
After completing Grade 12, I attended Andrews University for one year and the University of Alberta where I received my B.Ed. degree. I have spent 30 years teaching mostly in the elementary grades. I retired from full time teaching in 2016 and am presently enjoying being a substitute teacher and usually teach about two days a week. Working part times gives me the opportunity to continue supporting children’s learning, flexibility, and more time to spend with my husband, my children, my grandchildren, and friends.
I am married to Larry Gascoyne and we have lived in Edmonton, Vegreville, and Two Hills before moving to Lacombe in 1998 where we presently live. We have two wonderful married daughters. Lorisa and her husband, Ryan live in Lacombe and have four children; Raelene and her husband, Clinton live in Red Deer and have two children. Our six grandchildren are the joy of our lives and we are blessed they live close by.
I enjoy singing trios with my sisters and helping with praise time at church, going on family vacations (especially to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico), and spending time with family and friends.
I am looking forward to our reunion in June!
